Pastor Zach Hoffman

Describe your job in 10 words or less.
I can do it in one! My-job-is-preaching-teaching-baptizing-communing-praying-sharing-in-the-lives-of-God’s-people-looking-for-mission-opportunities-and-opporutnities-to-serve-building-teams-with-our-staff-and-members-partnering-with-parents-to-raise-children-into-faithful-adults-partnering-with-the-community-and-raising-up-leaders! There! Ha!

What’s one of your favorite scriptures?
Isaiah 43:1-3

Where’s your favorite place in North Georgia?
Unicoi State Park or any place that has ice cream. (There are a lot of places we have not been to yet!)

Where’s your favorite place you’ve traveled?
John Pennenkamp State Park, Key Largo, Florida. We snorkeled there. The coral and the fish were beautiful, and the water was clear. They told me not to touch the reef, but I think my knee bumped against it a few times. This is because I am not a good floater. Not ashamed!

What makes you laugh the most?
Mel Brooks movies, Bill Murray, and misspelled signs and headlines. (i.e. “Students Cook and Serve Grandparents”)

What’s your favorite smell?
Smokey barbecue!

What are your top 3 favorite movies?
That’s tough here are some of my favorites, but I don’t know if I can do a top three. Field of Dreams, History of the World Part I, and really any of the movies from the Marvel Universe.

What’s your hidden talent or a fun fact about you?
I’m really good a tossing pizza dough.

What’s your favorite family tradition?
Reading The Night Before Christmas to my children after 7pm service on Christmas Eve, and watching/ falling asleep to the Muppet Christmas Carol after the late service on Christmas Eve.

If you could have dinner with anyone (past, present, or future) who would it be?
There are so many people that I would love to get to know, but my answer is going to sound pretty boring to most people. I’d love to have all of my children together for dinner after they have grown up. Of course, I love eating dinner with them every day now, but they are my mission and I am excited to see how Jesus continues to shape their lives. I cannot wait to see how all of the gifts God has given them develop and grow! What could be better than to gather with them, give thanks to our faithful God, and eat!
